ABOUT US REVISED/BIOSPHERE So, be afraid. Be Very Afraid. The truth is some where. Ted Lehman and Randy Bishop were born the sons of poor immigrant share-croppers. Brothers from different mothers. Then one day, up from the ground come the bubblin' blues. They didn't know where it came from, but they liked it. They liked it a lot. They never realized where that love of the blues would eventually lead them, (and they still don't). Actually, Ted & Randy went to different schools together. Ted hails from Long Island, then Buffalo, New York, where he discovered his fondness for chicken wings and his hatred for the cold. Ted perfected his flashy guitar riffs while performing with the band, Pepperwood Greene in the Western New York Area during the late '70's. Playing mostly original songs by Ted and the other members of the band. Ted also loves playing bass guitar, harmonica into a Shure SM58, and singing in the shower, singing anywhere for that matter. Today, his instruments of choice are a red Fender Strat and a seasoned Martin D-28. Now with our new digital studio Ted is also having a great time as our engineer. Randy, on the other hand, is from a small, river-port town known as Huntington, West Virginia. Huntington is the home of country artist, Billy Ray Cyrus. Randy was also a rock performer in the early days, playing lead guitar for a band known as United Sound, who often opened for concert acts like Loggins & Messina and REO Speedwagon. Randy also sings and plays keyboards and bass. But, his favorite musical toy is still the vintage Les Paul he's cared for since 1975. Together, Randy and Ted prove that two heads are better than one. And, that two wrongs can make a "writer." They've been writing songs together since the 1980's, and agree that the law of averages insures that, "At least some of them will be good!" Their musical styles tend to run from blues to pop to country. But mostly, Ted and Randy's writing and musical influences come from traditional music like John Prine and Steve Goodman, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, groups like The Beatles (big surprise there), Bob Dylan, the Doors, Eric Clapton, CSN, ZZ Top, Jimmy Hendrix, Santana, Jackson Brown, The Eagles, Steely Dan, Billy Joel, Allman Bros., & Spirit. Their songs are also characterized by their mutual respect for great performing acts like Little Feat, Bruce Springstein, The Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull, The Who, The Band and Moody Blues. However, musical influences as diverse as Frank Zappa, Bonnie Rait, Loudon Wainright III and The Eagles are also incorporated into many of Lehman-Bishop's songwriting efforts. Today they are making CD's and new digital recordings of their truly unique music. Ted and Randy say that they don't have enough time. "We wish we could spend all of our time writing and recording" With their popularity on the internet, "More and more people are actually hearing our music, That's the most important thing, that others have a chance to hear what we can do." In the past few years they have licensed their music to TV, and their songs have been covered by over 2 dozen independent artists. Those songs can be heard on the Legacy 4 U CD's where all the artists proceeds go help fight cancer. Thanks for visiting our page. We really welcome your comments about our music. Now, music aside, let's get trivial. Ted and Randy's personal likes and dislikes include; Likes: Playing and Writing Music, Science Fiction Movies, Smallville, Comic Books, Superheros, X-Files, Star Wars, Seinfeld, Hot Cars, Hot Dogs, Hot Music, Hot Women, video games, the internet, Star Trek and real space stuff (but not necessarily in that order). Dislikes: Opera, sub-titled movies, tape machines that are temperamental, guitars that won't stay in tune, bad waiters, Romance novels, Big Ego's and the People they are attached to, smart asses, dumb asses, and smelly asses, things that don't work, and sometimes things that do. Happy trails....
